I took pictures of this cute little 4 year old a few months ago, but I cannot believe I forgot to share them with you! WOW, did this little girl had some spunk! I just loved her! She was full of smiles and personality. She is definitely a model in the making!

These two sisters has such a great relationship. Even behind the camera, I can tell that these two girls love each other and have fun together! It was such a blessing to capture their unique personalities!
Recent Reviews
I just had to share these recent reviews I’ve received on my FB page. Not only do I love taking pictures, but I also love getting to work with great people.
"This was our second experience with a professional outdoor photographer, and our first had left us somewhat skeptical. We won a free session with Cathy, so we figured we had nothing to lose. We were very pleasantly surprised when we met Cathy out at Gilsland Farm for our shoot. She immediately put us all at ease, and was great with our easily distracted and rarely cooperative two-year-old son. As soon as we got outside, he took off running - away from the camera of course. We were worried, but Cathy got in front of him and started singing “Elmo’s World” and stopped him in his tracks :) She was so great with our son, it’s clear she has lots of experience with kids, both professionally and personally. Our photos came out great, very clean and professional. We ended up ordering lots of prints, and Cathy stayed in contact and involved throughout the process. She was very concerned with our satisfaction, and even ordered some reprints at no charge when we didn’t quite like the cropping (though there was nothing wrong with the prints, just personal preference). I never see this kind of exceptional service anymore, Cathy is a true professional and a genuinely sweet person. Thanks Cathy!!”
"We had the pleasure of meeting Cathy on a breezy afternoon in Camden, Maine. My family were the lucky winners of a photo session with Cathy. Cathy made very quick contact with me and we realized that I was located in Central Maine, and she in Southern Maine. Even so, Cathy very generously agreed to meet my family at a half way point for both of us , which also happens to be a beautiful landscape for photographs. She also allowed us to postpone the session a few months so we would be able to have an outdoor session and so that our daughter would be older and strong enough to sit on her own, which I never would have thought of. After a 2 hour car ride by children (2 and 7 months) were not as cooperative as they usually are, but Cathy paid that no mind. She even sang my son’s favorite song to him to capture a good smile! The session went by so fast, it felt like we were just playing with our kiddos in the park, there was no rigid direction or forced posing. She had some adorable accessories for my 7 month old daughter, which only made the pictures that much more unique! It was hands down the most relaxed photos I have ever had taken, with or without children. We really enjoyed the experience so very much, and the photographs are unbelievable beautiful. She really captured who we are as a family. If you want an relaxing session and beautiful images, Cathy is the only choice.”
"Peekaboo has been collaborating with Cathy Clicks on several projects since last summer. Some of you might have seen her photography show at Peekaboo; or have attended our Halloween party; or spent time with your children during our 2011 Photo Shoot. Cathy was there, capturing happy moments at play. When you meet Cathy, you will get to experience her extraordinary work ethics and radiant personality first hand. I don’t have to mention the beautiful work she does — just look at the photos on FB and her blog! We wish Cathy every success!"
7 years ago
I am so blessed that 7 years ago, the love of my life married me. Even though we have our ups and downs, I love my husband more than ever! I am one lucky lady!

{me at work}
My brother-in-law’s family has been in town the past two weeks. Sadly, they left this morning for the drive back home. We all had such a great time together. I knew my sister-in-law likes taking photos, but I learned that my brother-in-law likes taking them even more. He grabbed a few shots of me, doing what I love best.

{our trip to boston}
Our family is in town, so we decided to venture out of Maine and head down to Beantown. The kids love riding the train and playing at the many beautiful parks. All five kids did so great walking around the big city. We went from the Public Garden, through Boston Common, had dim sum in Chinatown, walked to the North End, played at a playground by the aquarium, went to $1 Target Night at the Children’s Museum, and ended the night at Barking Crab. What a busy and fun day. I just love the pictures I captured, so I had to share them with you!
{photography tip #6}
GET AWAY FROM THE MIDDLE!
Okay, I might get too technical here, but this tip will definitely make your photos more interesting and balanced. One of the first things you will learn in any photography class is the “Rules of Thirds.” When you look through your camera or on your camera screen, break up your frame into thirds.
It can be confusing, since there are nine boxes, but the important thing is to think about where the lines intersect. Your subject or focus should be at the intersection of these lines. Studies has shown that people’s eyes naturally go to one of these intersections, rather than the center of the photo. I’ve included some examples of how I used the “rules of thirds” and one picture that I didn’t.

Afternoon in Camden | Camden Family and Children Photographer
I was featured on this great blog Cute Potato, and recently photographed the giveaway winner. What an honor to photograph this wonderful family. We met in Camden on a chilly, yet beautiful afternoon. We both drove over 2 hours for the session, but I think it was well worth it. This family was so natural and fun infront of the camera. I loved getting to know this family and hope to continue to photograph these darling children!

Family of Four | Scarborough Newborn and Family Photography
What a joy to meet baby Ella only a few days after joining this world. It was such a privilege to photograph this family when Ella was only a size of a large jicama in mommy’s belly and now a family of four. Anyone that entered this house can tell the love for their new addition. Even big brother was full of kisses and curiosities. I just couldn’t help but smile and enjoy my time with this wonderful family.

Father’s Day is Around the Corner
A great way to say Happy Father’s Day is putting together a storyboard. Give each kid a white sheet of paper to hold and take their picture. You can then use photoshop (or Picassa, which is a free photo editing software) to add text to the sheet of paper. Or you can just write the signs for your child to hold. Here are some examples of what we are putting together for our wonderful daddy! I also included a photograph from a few years ago of my oldest two. :)
{photography tip #5}
Tell a Story
A great way to share or display photographs is to tell a story. When you buy a frame, many times you will see them matted with three openings to display three prints. You can also print out storyboards/collages that put three or four photographs side by side. These are perfect ways to show a series of memories. You can tell a story of your son’s birthday party with photographs of your son blowing out his candles, opening his gifts, and a family picture from that day. Another story idea can be displaying your three children all at the age of 1. You can also display three continous action shots (daughter dancing). Next time you take pictures of your family or friends, think about telling their story!
my hubby
I don’t think I have ever posted a picture of my wonderful husband, who is my rock and best friend. He is super supportive of everything I do! I wouldn’t be able to pursue my love of photography without his support. He does such an awesome job watching the kids when I have to work. He also designed and made my website and blog!
I just had to take this picture of him today at Smiling Hill Farm. I just loved how he looked and loved the fog in the background.
happy trio | portland family and children photographer
The chilly days are mostly behind us. The dreary grays and browns are slowly turning green. And the pop of colors are starting to give us the warm and fuzzies. However, I didn’t need the spring like weather to make me feel this way. A couple of minutes with this family sure lifted my mood. Amaan with his excitement of unexplored land and a brave woodchuck, and his parents always full of smiles, made this session pure joy!
5 years later
My oldest son turned five last week. The day he arrived is still a distinct memory. It was my last day of teaching, before I had a whole week off to relax and get things done before his due date. Well, even to this day, my son likes to catch me off guard and disorganize my well-planned expectations. I did not have a whole week off, he arrived that afternoon. Even though from that day forward, life has been nothing but chaotic, I would never trade it in. My son brings joy out of chaos, laughter when I am blue, and daily exciting adventures. Happy Birthday to my not so little baby!
Happy Mother's Day!
Even though this day is suppose to be about me, this day has only made me so much more thankful and feel so blessed to be a mom to my three wonderful children. And of course, I wouldn’t have my children if it weren’t for my awesome husband. He has taught my kids (especially my oldest) to be so sweet to me. When I woke up I found this (love the dirty fingerprints):
Then while I was relaxing on the couch, my daughter came in with this beautiful mug and my favorite candies! I finally have an “I LOVE MOM” mug!
My oldest son had a Mother’s Day Brunch at his preschool on Friday. The teachers made a lovely spread of yummy goodness and prepared two songs for the kids to sing. Even though my shy little boy wouldn’t go up and sing with the rest of his friends, he has sang me many songs at the comfort of our house. He made me these AWESOME creations at school. Aren’t they the cutest? LOVE IT!
I am one blessed mama! Hope you have a great Mother’s Day! Remember to take lots of pictures!
(This is the only good photograph of me and all my three kids. My hubby is a great photographer too!)
beautiful little fairy | saco newborn photographer
Have you ever seen a newborn baby and just have your heart yearn to have one of your own? Well, this little two week old angel made me do that. She was the perfect model in all her cuteness and did everything I asked. :) What a beautiful blessing from God.
