Once in a while… | Portland Maine Senior Portraits Photographer

… I get the honor of photographing senior portraits.  I do not advertise or promote myself as a senior portrait photographer, so when I get to do one, it is so nice.

So, this session is from October, but with a new baby and a busy last few months with sessions, I am finally getting around to posting on this blog.  So you’ll see a lot more posts, now that I am on “winter vacation.” :)

Well, this lovely young lady goes to Eastpoint Christian Church with me.  Actually, through this session we have new friends at church.  Her mother is so wonderful and now helps with the moms group that I am a part of, called MOPS

I look back at these photos and amazed at her beauty and was reminded of the fun session we had.  I think I captured her inner and outer beauty quite well. :)  What a sweet young lady and family!

{best buds} | Westbrook Maine Children Photographer

Do you remember these boys?  Look how much they have grown!  I started capturing family portraits of these guys when the little one was only 6 months old.  The last time I saw little Jonah was last winter (at age 1), and wow, he has changed so much.  It was so fun watching him run around.

What a special pair. It is always so great to watch and capture this great relationship!

Health Child Day @ Peekaboo Children’s Center | Westbrook Event Photography

I had the privilege to document this great event organized by Peekaboo Children’s Center. It was their first annual Health Child Day.  Kids Gone Raw was there making Healthy Spinach Berry Smoothies.  There was a workshop, “Music Exploration for Families” by Kate Beever of Maine Music and Health. Amazon bestseller author of "What Not To Say: Tools for Talking with Young Children", Sarah MacLaughlin shared about ”Brains, Tantrums, and Listening: Better Communication and Problem-Solving with Young Children.”  It looked like the parents and kids really enjoyed their morning at Peekaboo!

{coolest friends ever} | Atlanta Georgia Maternity Photography

Not only are these two the coolest - they are also the coolest friends!  I’ve known this soon-to-be mama since we were thirteen in high school.  Went to the same college and were even roommates.  Both teachers, well… she is a professor now and now we have the same due date!  The only thing is that she is in Atlanta, and I am here in Maine.

I so wish we were in the same town to share this journey together and to have our babies be best buds.

It was such a blessing to capture these moments for her.  I was able to capture their fun, loving, and stylish personalities.  These two are so terrific together and I think it is evident through these photographs.  I cannot wait to meet baby!  She will be one lucky girl to have such a cool mom and dad!

{belly love to baby} | Scarborough Maternity Photography

This morning I had the privilege to capture this couple’s baby’s first portraits.  It is so special to me that I get to meet a couple and then photograph them again with a new baby.  This little baby boy is one lucky baby to have these two as parents.  There was non-stop doting on baby and each other.

I just feel so blessed to be able to capture these beautiful moments and memories that I hope families will cherish for a lifetime.

Number 8

I am so blessed and thankful for 8 years of being happily married to my man.  It has been such a incredible journey, at times hard… but it is getting better and better.  I feel like the luckiest woman to share this journey with him.

Today I woke up to find a Sea Bag with the number 8 on it and a plant inside.  The first gift he gave me, was also a bag with a plant inside.

Seriously, I am one lucky lady!

{sweet.spicy.love} | Falmouth Maine Family Photographer

I find such joy when a family returns to me to photograph their family portraits.  I’ve had the honor of photographing the ‘T’ family again, and watch these beautiful children grow bigger.

Even though these children are taller now, their personalities have not change.  This beautiful little girl, again was shy and had me working hard to grab these precious moments.  Her brother makes clicking away easy - he was full of smiles and loved sharing his life with me.

I enjoy this family and hope to continue to capture their fleeting moments.

{Nowhere, a story of exile} | Author Biography Headshots Westbrook Maine Photographer

I had the privilege of photographing, Anna Astvatsaturian Turcotte, for her newly-released Kindle Edition book, Nowhere, a story of exile.

I know Anna through her beautiful knitted creations.  Many of my photographs that are adorned with knitted hats are from her - Lovemook: Handknit for Babies.  I’ve also photographed her beautiful children for her family portraits.

This project has been in the works for many years, and feel so honored to be a part of it and capturing her beauty for her book.  Go and take a peek, and read her “heart-wrenching story told through a personal medium; through the diary entries of a young girl documenting the organized terror in Baku, her life as a refugee, and her struggle to find herself, all against the backdrop of the collapse of the Soviet Union. Anna gives a voice to a horrific tragedy little reported in the West, to the Armenian population of Azerbaijan and to the child victims of ethnic cleansing everywhere.” (quoted from the book description)

The printed version is now available for purchase at Amazon.

{crazy bunch}

This is usually what happens when I try to photograph my children together….

Usually, at least one of them will start acting all crazy.  These photos show a progression of my crazy, yet photogenic daughter!

(These photos are of my oldest son’s last day of waiting for the school bus to go to Kindergarten.  I cannot believe how fast this year has passed!!)
